A bit late but…
So that was it, it all came and went so quickly. I thought I’d still put this up although I came back nearly two weeks ago as otherwise it’s a bit abrupt. I had the most amazing time with a wonderful group of people and I wish I could have stayed longer. I have come back with a lot more photos, memories and Portuguese than I went with, as well as a lot of inspiration for my final year at uni. I hope I can go back next year and have a good look at the rest of South America. Volunteering was certainly an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone, especially if you want to see a country not so much as a tourist and also if you’re going alone. It’s great to be able to arrive someone and get all the local knowledge straight away from other volunteers who have been there longer than you.
In terms of actually getting home, my flights went extremely smoothly. Apart from a 10 hour stop in Houston, Texas that nearly killed me, I actually arrived an hour earlier than scheduled. Got an amazing view over London too…
